Mirror Word Safaris
We are excited to combine our traditional word school conference with an African Safari and sightseeing tour. Word Schools have been such an incredible time to soak in the mirror message and identity, and being paired with a truly South African Safari leads to a soul-enriching adventure... Seeing the life behind the message in the surrounding beauty of the country whilst sharing in fellowship is life-changing!
Mirror Word Safari's is a family run Safari, headed up by husband and wife duo - Francois & Lydia du Toit - the heart behind the soul of the trip; their son Christo who is a South African Chef extraodinaire who will feed your senses, hearts and bellies; and their daughter Tehilla who helps with the administration and bookings.
Francois & Lydia
Francois grew up in a home where Jesus was loved and lived. His parents were in fulltime ministry in an interdenominational mission. His eldest brother Leon, is a missionary in the Ukraine and Russia for many years.
Lydia and Francois met on the 25th of August 1974, while he was working with Youth For Christ. She was sixteen and he nineteen! The following year he studied Greek and Hebrew at the University of Pretoria for three years while Lydia completed her nursing training. In 1978 Francois also spent a year with Youth with a Mission.
They married in January 1979 and are blessed with four amazing children, Renaldo, Tehilla, Christo and Stefan. They worked in fulltime mission for fourteen years, during which time they also pastored a church and led a training facility for more than 700 students over a five-year period.
They then left the ministry and for ten years did business mainly in the tourism industry. They built and managed a Safari Lodge in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve and eventually relocated to Hermanus where they started Southern Right boat-based whale watching.
In December 2000 Francois began to write the book, “God believes in You” which led to him being invited to speak at various Christian camps and churches.
They are now back in fulltime ministry since February 2004, and travel at least once a year abroad and almost every month into Africa and around South Africa.
Francois has written several books in both English and Afrikaans, including God Believes in You, Divine Embrace, Done! and The Mystery Revealed. He is currently passionately engaged in continuing with The Mirror Translation.
His work is being translated into several African languages as well as Chinese, Russian, Hungarian, German, French, Spanish, Swedish, Polish, Portuguese, Japanese, Dutch and Slovakian.

Christo Du Toit
Christo has been going to the Bush with his family since he was young and has a trained eye for spotting elusive game. He resides in Cape Town and has a tour company & bus, Nkosi Safaris, which he launched during our first Safari in 2013. When he's not driving the tour bus, he is either painting, cooking or fine-tuning his handicap on one of our many exquisite golf courses. An accomplished artist and chef, you will get to sample his culinary talent during the trip! Christo is the trip co-ordinator and your hands-on assistant. His gift and attention to details is so appreciated on the tours.
Tehilla Luttig
Tehilla is a family counsellor with a private practice in Hermanus who also heads up numerous community innitiatives in the disadvantaged schools. A passionate South African who is eager to help others get to experience the unique adventure Mirror Word Safari's has to offer! Not only is the country awe inspiring, but the word being shared is life changing! Tehilla is your liason person who will deal with the administration, bookings and correspondence during preparation for the safari.
